Can kids have bad breath?

Persistant bad breath in young children rarely originates in the mouth, unless the child has an abscessed tooth.  If your child complains of a toothache and has bad breath, then see a pediatric dentist right away. But, if your little one is not in pain but bad breath persists, you have other medical concerns to consider. It could be sinusitis, acid reflux, swollen tonsils, all of which can be helped by a trip to your pediatrician.
